Choir

The choir activities are directed by Mark Larson, Conductor, and Joanna King, Organist. If you are interested in joining any of the choirs, please let us know via email to choirdirector@goodshepherdnf.org .

Senior Choir

The adult choir enriches worship on Sundays with special emphasis at Christmas and Easter. A Christmas cantata is presented during the morning worship service on the second or third Sunday in December. All who are interested in praising the Lord in song are welcome to join the choir. Rehearsals are on Thursdays at 7:30 pm.

During the summer from the middle of June until after Labor Day, members of the choir or congregation provide special music every Sunday in the form of solos or duets, trios, etc. The choir does not hold regular rehearsals during this period.

Instrumental music besides the organ and piano is also provided during the year, including chamber music by a quartet consisting of flute, violin, cello, and harpsichord. Other members of the congregation also add their instrumental "voices" (flute, percussion, French horn, trumpet) from time to time to the worship services at Good Shepherd.

Senior Chime Choir

This is a chime choir which consists of adults and high school age youth, and plays primarily during the Christmas and Easter seasons to enhance the worship service. The Chime Choir has also played at weddings and nursing homes in the area. Rehearsals are at 12:00 -12:30 pm on Sundays.

Junior Chime Choir

This is a chime choir for youth in 4th - 8th grades who play mainly during the Christmas and Easter seasons also, but have enhanced the worship services at other times of the year as well. They have joined the Senior Chime Choir in playing at nursing homes in the area. Rehearsals are at 8:45 to 9:15 on Sundays before Sunday School.

It has been observed that Lutherans love to sing , so naturally there are some other groups raising their voices in song as well.

Sunday School Classes (Grades 5 - 8)

This age group meets together, directed by their teacher, Joyce Klauck, and at times join the Senior Choir in singing anthems during the worship service.

Nursery - 4th Grade Classes

Sunday School children in this age group meet after their classes with Christine Roegge who leads them in song. They generally sing during the Sunday worship service once a month.
