Good Shepherd has a new Website!
-
We moved the website to a new hosting service recently (03/20/2011), which
allows us to offer a host (pun not intended...well, not much) of new services
we were previously unable to. Also, the site is much faster and more reliable
than the old one.
The first couple of services we're rolling out are:
-
1) The
Good Shepherd Forums -
-
The GSLC Forums Have Been Discontinued Due to Lack of Participation
If you wish to see a forum system on the Good Shepherd website, please make your interest known
to Pastor or to the webmaster. If there are sufficient expressions of interest, we will consider
installing a new forum system.
-
2) A new mailing list system for the Monthly Newsletters -
-
We are moving several separate mailing lists to a common automated delivery system.
The daily "Growing in the Word" have been delivered by this system for the last
few weeks, and it was also used for the April, 2011 Newsletter. We are looking into
merging the Prayer Chain list also.

June is Board Election Month
-
As that time approaches, the Nominating Committee should put up a Board
Elections forum on the Good Shepherd Forums to keep everyone posted on
their progress, and to solicit suggestions for the slate of officers. This
was an effective tool for a couple of years before spammers killed the
forums. It seems safe to reinstate it now.
Suggestions Solicited for Improving the Website
We also want to canvass the members of the congregation over the next few
months to find out what features they'd like to see on the website.
What sorts of features might be added? Well, here are some ideas to consider:
a youth section,
a members-only section,
an online member directory,
and online tools to help manage communication among pastor, board, and
congregation more effectively, etc.
These are just a few ldeas - please feel free to suggest your own (you
can email your suggestions either to Pastor or to the webmaster).
